Samsungs’s default messaging app is now Google Messages!

For years, Android messaging has been a disaster, but that is starting to change. There’s finally a “default” now that Google Messages makes advanced RCS messaging available to almost any Android user who wants it. Samsung has officially embraced Google Messages as its default app in the United States, giving RCS a significant boost.

While Google Messages was always available, it was never a  pre-installed app in the Samsung handset. This started to changes as the Galaxy S21 series last year shipped with the app as a “default” for Europe and other regions.

And finally, it’s going to be the same for the US too. Starting with the Galaxy S22 series, Google Messages is now the default messaging software on Samsung Galaxy smartphones in the United States.
