Today, at the Unpacked 2022 event, Samsung has announced the next generation of Galaxy S-series smartphones – Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. There are several USPs for each of the devices, with S22 Ultra getting the most out of all.
First of all, Samsung has claimed to use ocean plastic and equips each of the devices with an Armored Aluminum Frame. Moreover, dissolving the Note Series, Samsung has now embedded the S Pen in the S-Series, thus reducing the need for making two separate flagship series. Alongside the Armored Aluminum, every device comes with Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and the back of the device, and that too on all the S22 series devices – so say hello to heavy drop shatters on the backglass and expensive repair costs.
All of the smartphones in the series will come with either one of the two SoC options – Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Out of these, the 12GB+1TB models will be made available in the selected market and will be exclusive to the online store.
Out of the box, the three smartphones will come with a 120Hz Display with 240Hz touch sampling. It is also a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, and also takes benefits of the new Vision Booster to improve the brightness of the display outside.
The Galaxy S22 and S22+ will feature 6.1-inch and 6.6-inch displays respectively, whereas the S22 Ultra will come with a 6.8-inch QHD+ display with a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz. In terms of the front-facing camera, Samsung is still using a 10MP sensor. For the back, things are a bit different. The S22 Ultra comes with a quad-camera setup. The main sensor is a 108MP sensor, 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP telephoto with 3X Optical Zoom, and 10MP telephoto with 10X optical zoom. In total, S22 Ultra can do a 100x Hybrid Zoom. Out of the box, the S22 Ultra SPen will be powered by a new Wacom IC which will make the usage buttery smooth. This has also reduced the latency to 2.8ms. As for the software, the S22 series will come with One UI 4.1 and is supported by four major OS updates and five years of regular security updates.
There are four colors available if you purchase offline, but four others are exclusive on the Samsung website. If you pre-order S22 Ultra today, you will get your devices this very month, and the S22 and S22+ in the month of March.
