Google working on a new Chromecast with Google TV.

It’s been more than a year since Google announced the first all-new Google TV with Chromecast feature. The new Google Chromecast device with Google TV comes with new upgraded hardware, along with 8GB of storage onboard. This already has new features that we require, but chances are high that Google is already working on a new version of the device.

9to5Google has spotted a new device in a recent APK teardown. The new device has the codename “Boreal” which actually belongs to the current generation Chromecast “Sabrina”. Although tied to the same Google TV code, no hardware detail is available for the device.

As of now, Google hasn’t released any information about the device as well. However, 9to5Google claims that the device will come with AV1 encoding/decoding which is mandatory for every Chromecast device launched after March 2021.
