Samsung has finally announced the launch date for its new AMD-powered Exynos SoC. Back in 2019, Samsung announced a big partnership with AMD for their new Exynos SoCs. Both of the partners confirmed the coming of ray tracing in a smartphone. To date from the partnership announcement date, Samsung kept things a secret. But no more, as Samsung announced the launch date for the SoCs to be January 11th, 2022. This SoC, presumably, Exynos 2200, might make its debut in the Galaxy S22 series, which is set to launch in February.
Moreover, it might be possible that the SoC never make its way to the flagship yet, but can be seen later in 2023. In case it is not no new SoC or presumed Exynos 2200, then it might be a problem, in case Samsung uses last-gen SoC – Exynos 2100 in the new flagship.
This new chip might change the direction of the Exynos and might go on par with Qualcomm later on.
