Pixel 6 Camera might capture “150% more light” and will come with “Magic Eraser” feature

We might get to see the most significant camera update in the Pixel lineup’s history with the launch of the Google Pixel 6, and now a pair of marketing sites are revealing more details about what this camera refresh will include, including a new feature called “Magic Eraser.”

Carphone Warehouse (via @evleaks) posted on their website, what seems like the marketing materials of the Google Pixel 6 showing off all its features including the new Magic Eraser tool which will let users clean unwanted objects on their photos with just a few taps.

Both phones will have a 50MP primary sensor, according to the page, with Google claiming that this new sensor can catch 150 percent more light than the Pixel 5. Another graphic depicts the actual size difference between the two sensors. A larger sensor, like anything else in the camera industry, contributes to superior images in terms of light capture and natural bokeh. The Pixel 6 Pro will contain a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 48MP 4x telephoto camera, according to the page.

The Pixel 6 Pro will come with a 4x Telephoto lens which will be missing on the regular model alongside a lower resolution Selfie Camera. The Pro might ship a 94-degree FOV selfie camera that is powerful enough to give you a clear ultra-wide shot without adjusting your device to get everyone on the photo.

The “Magic Eraser,” which was released last month with little information, will reportedly be powered by Google Photos and will be able to erase “stranger and undesired objects.” However, Google notes in a footnote that the feature “may not work on all picture elements.” On discussions of the deblur function, similar footnotes can be found. Better management of skin tones is also mentioned by Google. Portrait mode, the previously revealed “Face Deblur,” and “Motion Mode,” which appear to give extra depth to a shot by leaving a sense of motion in the shot, are all mentioned.
