OnePlus has a pattern of bringing an updated version of its flagship phones. The same was expected to be followed by the OnePlus 9T series. But there has been new information that proves otherwise.
In a post by the Android Authority; Pete Lau, OnePlus’ CEO and co-founder confirmed that there won’t be a OnePlus 9T or a Pro T-series this year.
Furthermore, it was also confirmed that Oxygen OS might be merging with Color OS (Android skin of its sister brand Oppo) soon.
Moreover, with the global chip shortage, it has made the launching of large-scale handset much more difficult than before. Also, the OnePlus Nord 2, OnePlus 9R, and OnePlus 8T series are all slowly being similar, the addition of the OnePlus 9T will just be one more handset following the same pattern.
But on a serious note, the company won’t be having the OnePlus 9T this year. This however doesn’t mean OnePlus won’t have another handset series launching this year. So, we can still look forward to that and more information might be given in the coming days.
