Spotify for Android Tests New Mini Player That Matches Color With Album Art

Spotify has been working on its Android app and it seems like there are some really good visual changes with the latest update. After introducing the home screen widget, the company is now testing a new in-app mini player that will match the cover art of the song playing.

After releasing version 8.6 to users on Android, which is currently in beta, there’s a new mini player. You have the same ability to play/pause, like a song, and access Spotify Connect. With the new change, the mini player now floats on top of the rest of the app and shows UI elements behind it in a translucent way.

The mini player also changes colors to match the song that is currently playing. It is unclear whether or not these changes will be there in the stable update but it is definitely a great addition.
