A new leak suggests that Samsung is stepping up the fast charging game this year with their upcoming Galaxy S22 series. This is the first time that Samsung is moving away from 25W fast charging (standard of 2019-20) to a faster-charging speed this time. As usual, Samsung is late to the game, but hey things are a bit different with a fast charger after all.
This piece of information comes from GSMArena, they have noticed the new charger certification on the internet. The new charger is having a fast-charging speed of 65W out of the box, with the model number EP-TA865. Out of the box, you will also see the USB Power Delivery system. Also, there is a rumor that Samsung is testing a 65W fast charger with the upcoming Galaxy S22 as well.
But the thing is the trend which is set by Apple – no inbox charger. A dumb move to “save the environment” when you have to buy a new charger after all.
Just hope that Samsung starts supporting 65W fast-charging for their flagships at least this time, as the certification states the rumor to be somewhat true.
