Windows 365 is a cloud-based service in which you get to use the entire operating system and the features from the cloud without any hassle of buying costly hardware. Just like any gaming platform such as Stadia, you can use the OS for a certain price for a month, however, you will get some hardware limitations, and can only overcome them if you pay more. This is meant for the business consumers as of now, but we may see a consumer version pretty soon.
Now coming back to the pricing, Microsoft has finally announced the pricing of the service, although some, today. As for the availability of the service, you will get access starting August 2. I will be testing it in case I get a free trial ;_;
During the Windows Inspire session, Microsoft accidentally announced the pricing of the service. One of the tiers of the Windows 365 will cost $31 for each user every month. This is meant for those companies having less than 300 employees. And for the specifications, you will get 2 vCPUs, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. And this pricing seems to be true to the words, as confirmed by Microsoft. And there is going to be a high-cost tier as well.
In comparison to the competition, Microsoft has placed the pricing in between Amazon and Citrix. And guess what, Microsoft says that to get the best out of Windows 365 – have a Windows PC handy! But this doesn’t mean you have to have a Windows PC powerful enough. Even a budget computer will do – since you are already accessing a powerful computer after all.
