CD Projekt RED, the studio behind the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, revealed that it was working on a new version of the game. In its first-ever WitcherCon event, the studio revealed that they will be bringing updates to the game later this year and will include some bonuses inspired by The Witcher Netflix series.
The DLC is not really an expansion of the game, but more likely seems to be additional items that are being brought over from the show. More information about these mysterious new items will come soon, according to the studio.
The next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 sometime later this year containing the base game, the Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone expansions, and DLCs, plus a range of visual improvements that include ray tracing support. Those who have owned the game previously will also get the update for free.
Meanwhile, on Netflix, The Witcher’s second season will begin airing on December 17.
