Microsoft Refreshes Office UI for Windows 10 and Windows 11 Insiders

Microsoft has finally released the first Windows 11 Insider Preview build to the Dev channel. The new build looks refreshing and features a lot of cosmetic changes across the operating system. However, support for Android apps is still on hold and might come soon.

Along with Windows 11, Microsoft is also refreshing its Office suite of apps, a few of which were shown off in the keynote as well. The new update is now only available for Windows 11 insiders, but also for Windows 10 insiders. The apps that are part of the update are Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access, Project, Publisher, and Visio.

New Office 365 UI

As shown, the apps will receive the Mica background effect seen in Windows 11 in a future update. The new design will be enabled for the Beta channel users by default and can be switched off from the Coming Soon pane at the top of the apps. Do note that this pane is not available for Access, Project, Publisher, or Visio so the toggle will not be there for these office apps.

The update is available for office apps running Insider Version 2107 build 14228.20000 or newer on both Windows 11 or Windows 10.
