The new Beats Studio Buds, Beats’ second truly wireless earphones, were introduced today. The Studio Buds, which cost $149.99 and come in red, black, or white, feature a different, more compact design than the preceding Powerbeats Pro. There are no ear hooks or stems on them, making them extremely light and pleasant to wear.
These are the first Beats in-ears to include active noise cancellation (ANC), as well as the smallest Beats true wireless in-ears.
The Studio Buds, unlike the Powerbeats, do not include an over-ear hook to keep them in place. These, on the other hand, are made to fit into your ear, with the tip-tilted to be pleasant and secure. The spherical casing bends up to a flat pill-shaped tab on the outside, which reminds us a lot of the Pill speaker family. They’re also water-resistant, with an IPX4 rating. This introduction gives us the impression that Beats Studio Buds aren’t here to provide you with a sporty set of in-ears.
With Studio Buds, Beats is able to support both iOS and Android functionality. On iPhone, the setup is similar to that of AirPods, and Control Center integration is included. They can even provide “Hey Siri” requests without having to use their hands. Beats now support Google’s Find My Device and Fast Pair capabilities on Android. The earbuds have 8.2-millimeter drivers, for which Beats created an entirely new acoustic architecture design.
