Move over, Galaxy A32 5G: Samsung has a new lowest 5G phone on the way: the Galaxy A22 5G, which will go on sale in July for £199/€230. The A32 5G, by comparison, started at £199/€280, and the strange thing is that the A22 5G is the better phone. We’re not complaining, mind you. A 4G version of the A22 is also available, which differs in numerous crucial ways beyond connectivity.
There’s a 6.6-inch Infinity-V FHD+ display on the front. A triple set of cameras may be found in the back. You probably know what to expect in this pricing bracket. There are two functional cameras: a main 48 MP camera and a 5MP ultra-wide camera, as well as a nearly obsolete 2MP camera for macro photography if you’re a masochist. The camera hump, on the other hand, is attractive and merges in well with the rear case. This phone will be available in four colors: grey, white, mint, and Velvet — or black, white, green, and purple in everyday language.
Samsung doesn’t like to discuss chipsets, but it’s evident that the Dimensity 700 is powering this device. It starts with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, allowing it to stay under €230. A model with 128 GB of storage and 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM is also available. The price of the 4/128GB variant begins at €250.
It’s probably best if you don’t insist on an AMOLED display. A 6.6-inch LCD with 1080p+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate is included. The 5G model, on the other hand, does poorly in the camera sector.
Samsung’s phones may seem to look the same after a while, but you can’t deny the business is working hard to make 5G a reality. With low-cost phones like this, parents will be more likely to be able to offer their children one without fear of them breaking.
Samsung also unveiled the standard A22. It features a smaller 6.4-inch display than the 5G phone, but it will provide a better experience because it sports a Super AMOLED 90Hz panel instead of the TFT one. It also boasts a 13MP front camera and a quad-camera setup with a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and two 2MP cameras for the macro and depth sensors. The rest of the specifications are nearly identical.
The Galaxy A22 has yet to receive pricing or availability information. This one has a somewhat different color pallet; the four hues accessible are Black, White, Mint, and Violet.
