At the Google I/O Google and Samsung confirmed that in the coming future, Galaxy Watch will not run on Tizen OS, instead they will run on the Wear OS for better app compatibility. And thanks to that and the leakster Ice Universe, Galaxy Watch Active will see major changes with the Galaxy Watch Active 4.
Galaxy Watch Active 4 – flat display and power efficient processor.
Thankfully Samsung is getting rid of the 2.5D curved glass which makes the application of the protective glass tough. With the Watch Active 4, we will not see the curved display anymore. Along with this major change, the bezels will be thinner and will be aesthetically pleasing.
Starting the very first Galaxy Watch launched in 2018, Samsung is using the Exynos 9110 for the smart watches. The processor is made on 10nm process and by today’s standard is not very power-efficient, given that majority of the SoC have already touched below 8nm within the two years time already.
However, things are going to change, and thanks to the leaked information, we might be able to see a better power-efficient silicon, based on 5nm process. This will not only be the powerful SoC in comparison to the 10nm Exynos 9110, but also will be power-efficient enough.
