You Can Now Send Payments from Google Pay to India and Singapore

Google Pay is one of the most preferred payment solutions in India. Ever since the launch of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in India, there has been a revolutionised growth in the digital payments sector in India. Now, with Google Pay, US citizens can also transfer funds to Indian Google Pay users.

For this, Google has partnered up with Western Union and Wise to make it possible. Currently, Google Pay users in the US will be able to only transfer money to India and Singapore users. However, Google plans to roll this feauture out to more than 200 countries and territories through Western Union and to 80 countries and territories using Wise.

To transfer money using Google Pay to India –

  1. Search for the Google Pay user you want to send money
  2. Tap on “Pay”
  3. Select either Western Union or Wise
  4. Follow the steps on-screen steps to complete the payment

Google Pay will allow unlimited free transfer for payments made via Western Union and free transfers up to $500 for payments made via Wise as part of the introductory offer. This offer will be valid till June 16.
