Google is working constantly to improve and add features on the Chrome OS. Google has started revamping the Chrome OS long ago, and release the new revamped design with Chrome v89. However, they have again started diving into the code and started revamping the media controls, to make them look and feel like Android’s.
Let’s see what Google is trying to change this time in the Chrome OS.
- Scrubbing – Till date, you could only skip back or forward on media in the OS. and no scrubbing possible. But Google is changing the same, and making it similar to what we see in Android.
- Dynamic Colors – As of now, Google have removed this feature long back. What this feature did was to change the color of the controls dynamically depending on the color of the album art. But now, they are going to return, yet again.
You can expect these new changes by Chrome OS 90 or 91. However, it might take a bit more longer than expected. However, if you want to try these new features, all you have to do is copy
chrome://flags/#global-media-controls-modern-ui into the address bar of Chrome if you use the test version of Chrome OS 91 or Chrome 91 on Windows and macOS. Then select the dropdown, select enable, and restart/reboot.
