We assume the latest Google Pixel Buds that went through the FCC recently are a budget-friendly model called “Pixel Buds A.” If this happens, Google will be following in the footsteps of rivals by selling audio products at a variety of prices points.
The Pixel Buds A will be available in two colors: darker forest green and white, according to 9to5Google. Instead of black on the ear tips, wings, and case interior, the white model is said to have an all-white bud pattern. They’ll have the same color scheme as Apple’s AirPods. Meanwhile, the forest green will be used on the charging case’s interior as well as the buds’ ear tips and wings.
On both versions, the black plastic from the ear tips and case interior is removed, leaving only a single color. While pricing is uncertain at this time, the “A” designator suggests a more affordable addition to the Pixel Buds line, following Google’s phone naming scheme.
There’s no word on when the Pixel Buds A will be released, but FCC listings from last week indicate a mid-year refresh. Given that this isn’t the only leak from Google’s hardware division, the company’s next launch event could happen in the coming weeks.
