OnePlus has now launched its next-generation flagship device – The OnePlus 9 series, which has three devices. The OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 R, will feature same SoC, similar Camera hardware and two different display design.
Three OnePlus 9 devices – three different styles.
The OnePlus 9 series has three devices – The OnePlus 9 Pro, the OnePlus 9, and the OnePlus 9 R. Three of them feature a 120Hz display, also called Fluid Display 2.0. But have a different bit of difference. The 9 comes with a flat display with 1100 nits brightness, HDR+ certified. Whereas the 9 Pro comes with the same Fluid Display 2.0 with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1300 nits brightness, MEMC, and HDR+ certification. The 9R comes with a flexible Fluid Display 2.0. Moreover, all three of the displays feature LTPO which is used to reduce power consumption by using the adaptive refresh rate of the display from 1Hz to 120Hz. However, the display on the OnePlus 9 Pro is a semi-flat display.
OnePlus also introduces a new technology which is called HyperTouch, which brings amazing sensitivity for gamers with amazing response rate.
On the inside, the OnePlus 9 series is using Snapdragon 888 SOC, which comes with Kryo 680 cores, and Adreno 660 for the GPU. This also brings power efficiency, thanks to the 5nm process used in making of the SoC, which also brings new features like Bluetooth v5.2, Wi-Fi 6, and LPDDR5 RAM.
On the other hand, the OnePlus 9R comes with a Snapdragon 870 SoC.
Hasselblad Camera – A major collab with a major brand.
Sure enough, OnePlus did focus the majority of the event discussing the camera capabilities they came across after partnering with Hasselblad.
First comes the OnePlus 9 Pro. The 9 pro comes with a massive ultra-wide camera, 50MP. It features a 320% larger sensor in comparison to normal sensors. It also has a 4cm minimum focus which brings those amazing macro images. It uses a freeform lens which removes the edge distortion, that is generally caused by a typical Ultra-Wide camera.
On the other hand, it comes with a 48MP main sensor which comes with a Sony IMX789 sensor, which can capture 12-bit RAW and supports 2×2 OCL (On-Chip Lens) focus. The device comes with a dedicated monochrome camera for your black and white images. For selfies, you get a 16MP with HDR support.
The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9R also comes with same hardware but with less of a sensor.
For video capture, the OnePlus 9 series comes with an 8K video recording at 30FPS, and 4K@120Hz for Slo-Mo recording. Moreover, you can also record DOL-HDR which combines light and details into a single HDR video simultaneously. Also, OnePlus brings the Nightscape Mode to video recording.
OnePlus 9 series – Battery, Charging, Pricing, and Colors.
The OnePlus 9 series comes with 4,500mAh battery for 9 Pro, 9 and 9R. All of the three devices will support 65T Warp Charging. This can charge your device significantly in 30 min to 100%. Also, you can charge your device wirelessly with 50W charging both horizontally and vertically.
For colors: OnePlus 9 Pro comes in 3 colors – Morning Mist, Pine Green, and Stellar Black, OnePlus 9: Winter Mist, Astral, Artic Sky. OnePlus 9R will come in two colors: Lake Blue, and Carbon Black.
