Clubhouse Reaches 8 Million Downloads on the App Store!

Clubhouse, an audio-first social media app, has been gaining a lot of traction in the past few weeks. Now, around 8 Million people have downloaded the iOS exclusive app from the App Store. Clubhouse plan to launch an Android app as well soon.

The success has forced Twitter and Facebook to design a similar product, which they have been taking into consideration from quite a while now. The numbers are based from the research firm App Annie (via TechCrunch). The app reached more than 8.1 Million downloads as of  February 16, 2021.

Research also shows that the app has become extremely popular in the UK, Germany, Japan, Brazil, and Turkey. These high figures are the results of influencers joining the platform and bringing the crowd with them. Many high-profile people like Elon Musk and popular YouTuber Mr. Beast have held many sessions on the platform which has increased the popularity.

The app has also grown popular since people are so curious about it. You can only join the app via an invite from someone already registered. This makes it feel like an exclusive club for iPhone users whose friends are already on the other side.
