Google is constantly working on the Android 12 and might release the first Developer Preview soon. However, the main thing that is the focus here is their upgraded theming engine in the Android 12.

As of now, you can only switch between dark and light mode, that too with a slight delay in switching. Also, it’s worth noting that changing theme colors all around the system is pretty much OK with Pixels, however, major OEMs shove in their useless crap for theming.

Upcoming Android 12 will allow us to change the primary and accent colors, not only for the system, but for the apps those will support for the same. Also, depending on your wallpaper, you phone will automatically pick up best color for your device.

However, things are at their early stages. Many things can be shifted from the upcoming Android version to the next version, or can be stripped off entirely.
