Samsung has been working with AMD for custom GPUs for their Exynos SoC. And now, it seems that Samsung is almost done with the development and production of the new Exynos. Although announced that Samsung’s next Exynos has AMD GPU, they planned to launch the SoC in the first quarter of 2022. But rumors suggest that the new SoC is coming sooner than scheduled.
Next-gen Exynos: Partnership between Samsung and AMD.
The partnership of AMD and Samsung was made public back in 2019. As per news from Ice Universe, the new SoCs will launch in the second or third quarter of 2021. So it might be possible that we might see the new SoC in the new devices that are going to launch this year. Expect the new SoC on flagships first.
As of now, Samsung has made a new development team for the new Exynos 2100, after sacking its entire custom-core development team back in the early 2020. Although the Exynos 2100 is in par with Snapdragon 888, its graphics performance still lags behind. The next-gen SoC will also help the SoC to go full out with Snapdragon.
