Earlier, we had reported that Google is adding a newly redesigned Search experience on mobile. This included the use of Google Sans font and some more nifty tweaks here and there. Now, it seems like Google is testing that on the Desktop as well.
The first change you will notice is that the search box is slightly raised with some shadows that can be seen. previously, this would only happen if you would hover over the search box. The categories now reflect more useful suggestions instead of the default ones that used to appear before.
But perhaps the biggest change of all is the new font – Google Sans. The font can be seen in page names and Search controls, like the filter bar. However, the previous font, Rosetta, can also be seen in site descriptions and other longer chunks of text.
