Sony is best known for its high-end smartphones, but the company also competes in the lucrative mid-range market. It did this in 2020 with the Xperia 10 II, and leaked renders now reveal what the model of the third generation will look like.
Steve Hemmerstoffer posted new versions of the Xperia 10 III on Voice, confirming that the system’s architecture would remain largely unchanged from last year. This isn’t at all a bad thing.
In particular, the Xperia 10 III will allegedly carry the 3.5mm headphone jack and front-facing stereo speakers. Sony will not make you give up your beloved earbuds or ask you to hold your phone while watching a video politely. Although it’s true that for last year’s Xperia 1 II, Sony also resurrected the jack, it’s unlikely people would complain about more options.
An 8MP front-facing camera, dual front-firing speakers, and a triple-camera setup on the back are also expected to be featured on the unit. Hemmerstoffer had no confirmation of the rear camera specifications but speculated that a 12MP main camera, 8MP telephoto lens, and 8MP ultra-wide lens would be featured on the Xperia 10 III.
