With the introduction of three well-rounded smartphones at today’s CES 2021, the global electronics giant TCL Communication further expanded its Alcatel products suite: the Alcatel 3L, Alcatel 1S, Alcatel 1L.
They are targeted at cost-conscious individuals with a decent camera who need a simple Android phone, not generally the fancier features seen on high-end models.
The Alcatel 3L is the most capable of the bunch, but even this computer does not truly qualify as a mid-range smartphone. Expect a MediaTek Helio A25 entry-level processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage.
A 4,000mAh battery with 10W charging via micro USB port is operated by TCL’s phone. Yeah, there is no USB-C support for the Alcatel 3L (and the rest of the devices announced today), about five years after the format was first introduced on smartphones. With a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD screen, a triple camera setup (48MP primary and a pair of 2MP sensors), and an 8MP selfie shooter in a waterdrop notch, the remainder of the spec sheet is similarly low-end. The device ships with Android 11 out of the box.
The device is expected to cost around €149 (~$183) when it launches in March 2021 and will come in two colors: Jewelry Black and Jewelry Blue.
A 6.52-inch HD+ LCD screen, an Helio A25 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of expandable storage are included in the Alcatel 1S. In principle, the combination of the lightweight processor and the 4,000mAh battery means two days of endurance is probably possible. Otherwise, you’re also having a triple rear camera, 5MP selfie snapper, and Android 11 (13MP and two 2MP sensors).
The Alcatel 1S will be available for €109 (~$134), complete with Elegant Black and Twilight Blue color options, from February 2021.
In this price category, TCL is also offering the Alcatel 1L (seen above). When running Android 11 Go Version instead, the phone cuts down on battery size (down to 3,000mAh) and camera count (13MP+2MP macro).
An Helio A25 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, and a 6.1-inch HD+ LCD screen are also available. The 5MP selfie camera and a rear fingerprint scanner are other notable specs at this price point.
The Alcatel 1L is available in Power Grey and Twilight Blue, and when it goes on sale in March 2021, it will sell for $135.
