Xiaomi’s sub-brand is preparing to launch its next flagship killer – Redmi K40, next month. The smartphone is scheduled to come with Snapdragon 888 out of the box, which makes it a flagship already.
However, the Redmi K40 will come out in China first, and then we can expect the device to get a global launch later this year. In a post on Weibo, Lu Weibing, Redmi General Manager, confirms that the K40 will launch in China next month starting from CNY 2,499 for the base model. This means there will be more than one model or a variant of the device. Other than the Snapdragon 888, Lu also confirms that we will get to see a flat display along with a larger battery.
Yet again, Redmi hasn’t shared any of their plans to launch the device globally. But given the past records, we can expect the device to launch soon globally. Or a new Poco might launch globally. Who knows?
