OnePlus has unveiled a new smartphone, called the OnePlus 8T Concept. The base design is copied from the OnePlus 8T, however, with a new addition to what they are actually working on.
At the back, OnePlus has added a metal oxide-based film that changes color according to the power level of your device. This is a pretty cool addition, to be honest. But will it be any benefit in normal usage scenarios? I guess not. However, the film is placed in such a way to mimic Pamukkale hot spring terraces in Turkey.
Other than that, OnePlus is also adding an mmWave radar inside the device. However, this is not meant for what you were thinking. This is being used for tracing and imaging an object, just like a ToF, but far better than that.
As per the firm, the color-changing film can act as a notification system on OnePlus 8T Concept, whereas the mmWave radar is placed near the camera for obvious reasons. It, however, will be used to detect gestures.
