The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 is the upcoming processor that will be seen on flagship Android phones in 2021. Benchmarks reveal that the processor falls back on performance when compared to the Apple A14 Bionic or even last year’s A13 Bionic chipset.

Thanks to Anandtech, we can look at how the Snapdragon 888 performs against other flagships. As you can see, the iPhone 12 Pro with A14 and the iPhone 11 Pro with the A13 beat the Snapdragon 888 in both the Geekbench and GFXBench tests.
As you can see, the Snapdragon 888 chip earned a single-core score of 1,135 and a multi-core score of 3,794, while the iPhone 12 Pro with A14 chip earned a single-core score of 1,603 and a multi-core score of 4,187.
The GPU performance is measured by the GFXBench where the Snapdragon 888 gets a score of 86 while all the iPhones up and above the iPhone SE (2nd Gen) had a score above that.

However, sustained performance is still unknown and the 888 might actually get ahead of the A14 if power efficiency is to be taken into consideration. Various reports have suggested that Apple has underclocked the A14 chipset because of heating issues. This is where the 888 could leap ahead of the A14.
The numbers are obtained by Qualcomm and aren’t individually verified. We’ll have more updates once we see phones rocking the new processor from Qualcomm.
