In a blog post, Samsung revealed its roadmaps for the next year and dropped several hints. TM Roh, President of Mobile, Samsung, confirmed the Samsung will hold an event in January. We presume that it is for the Galaxy S21. He also implied that S Pen will be supported on many more devices and that Samsung will broaden its foldable phone catalog with more options.
This falls in line with rumors that were suggesting that the Note lineup would eventually come to an end. the S and Note series have mostly had the same internals for quite a few years now, with the main differences being in the boxxy design language and of course the support for the s pen.
S pen support might come on phones like the Galaxy Z phones in addition to the S21 lineup. Roh says that Samsung will have more to share in January. He also said that Samsung wants a “portfolio of foldables” and that it wants to make the category “more accessible to everyone.”
Accessibility here mostly means that the price of the Fold series is likely to come down, since existing phones from Samsung range between $1,300 to $2,000.
Rob also says that Samsung will now emphasis more on “pro-grade camera and video capabilities” on its phones. Watch out the space for more updates from Samsung.
