According to a new report from The Elec, Samsung will supply Apple with around 140 Million OLED displays in 2021. This will include specialized LTPO equipped displays for the iPhone 13.
The low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO display) thin-film transistors are also used in the new Apple Watch to reduce the refresh rate to almost 0 when not displaying active information on the screen.
The report also sheds some light on how the supply chain is affecting the production of the iPhone 12. BOE and LG also have ordered but they often have trouble keeping up the pace of Apple’s orders.
Samsung is the sole manufacturer that is capable of handling Apple’s orders without hiccups in the supply chain.
