Yet another leak on the Galaxy S21 series. This time it’s about the details of the camera setup, courtesy of the tipster, Ice Universe.
The ultra-wide camera sensors of the Galaxy S21 series are upgraded to IMX 563, with a 123° wide angle (S20 series 120°)

As per the leak, all three handsets in the Galaxy S21 series will have a similar Sony IMX563 sensor for the ultra-wide camera. This sensor will be a 12MP camera with 1.4µm pixels and is 1/2.55″ big. The camera will support dual-phase detection. The tipster further adds that this Ultra-wide sensor will provide up to 123° Field of view. This is quite a bit wider than the 120° Field of view provided by the Ultra-wide camera in the S20 series.
In addition, there are rumors that the senor might also come with AF. If that indeed is true, then the ultra-wide camera sensors will also be able to perform macro photography. So there won’t be any need to add a dedicated macro sensor to the handset.
But we will have to wait for further leaks to confirm that. The launch event is still a month away. And with leaks coming in every other day, we will know more about the series soon enough!
