Samsung has now unveild the launch date for its new generation of Exynos processors. The upcoming Exynos 1080 will be unveild on November 12 this year. And the smartphone with this processer will be seen in the year 2021.
Although new, Samsung is not going to use this exact SoC for their upcoming flagship Galaxy S21. It is a mid-range processor after all. For specifications, Exynos 1080 will feature ARM’s Cortex-A78 cores, along with Mali-G78 GPU. According to ARM, the Cortex-A78 has a 20% improvement boost in comparison to A77. Also, it is going to be a 5nm processor, and will feature 5G modem as well.
As per the early benchmark reviews, the SoC has shredded the current flagship processors from Qualcomm to pieces.
The new Exynos might be considered as a successor to the Exynos 980, however, after spotting an Exynos 981 already, we can say that this is not going to be the case after all.
on its Weibo Account, Samsung has already announced the date for the launch, its November 12, and the press conference will be held in Shanghai, China. More information are yet to come.
