Samsung has finally launched the SmartThings app for Galaxy Smartphones. The SmartThings was showcased in the Galaxy Note 20 launch event, in which you can find your Galaxy devices using this app.
This feature uses Bluetooth LE and Ultra-Wideband of your device. The app will run on any Galaxy smartphone running Android 8 and up. This will help you find your Galaxy Buds, smartphone, tablets, etc by ringing it. Also, you can find your single bud after a simple registration.
The inbuilt AR feature also helps you find the lost device in real-time.
Now the things are going to be interesting. In case your device is turned off for more than 30 min, a Bluetooth LE signal will be emiting everytime. This will notify other Galaxy Users about the lost device, and the device will be added to Samsung’s Database.
This however, works better on the Ultra-Wideband devices. Samsung is also working to add the feature of tracking tags. These tags will be added to your any object.
