Samsung has finally reclaimed its position as the top leader in the Indian smartphone market after beating Xiaomi. Post lockdown, the smartphone sector is one of the most rebounded segments in India.
According to a report by Counterpoint Research, we can see which smartphones Indians bought in Q3 2020 as compared to Q3 2019. This surge was also fueled by the festive sales by both Amazon and Flipkart during this time.
People favoring Samsung instead of Xiaomi is also due to the anti-China sentiment that has started since early this year after the border dispute between India and China escalated. However, people are still weighing in other factors while making the purchase.
The segment with the highest growth was the midrange segment between ₹10,000-₹20,000. Samsung is selling M series smartphones in this segment, which are the actual bang for the buck.
