Acer announced a new Chromebook and a smart speaker.


Acer has added new devices to their portfolio this year. From new Chromebooks, laptops to their first smart speaker, Acer has something in their arsenal to please their customers.

Acer Chromebook 513 –

First of all comes their Chromebooks. Acer has brought new Chromebooks with Qualcomm 7C processor. Yes, this is going to be an ARM-based laptop. The new Chromebook 513 will feature Qualcomm 7C, which comes with an Octa-Core Kryo 480, along with Adreno 618 GPU. You can even have the option to use the LTE inbuilt. Alongside this, there is 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Moreover, in terms of I/O, you get two USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, and a single USB Type-A 3.2 port. The Type-C ports are dual-purpose and are used to connect the display and to charge.

Starting February 2021, the Chromebook 513 will be available for $399 in the US, and CA$599 in Canada. For enterprises, there are Enterprise-focused Chromebooks for $699 and CA$949 in the US and Canada.

Acer Smart Speaker with Google Assistant!

Acer has made its own smart speaker! This smart speaker will come with Google Assistant! This new smart speaker is Halo. Moreover, it will have that mesh fabric wrapped around. A set of LEDs will illuminate the area whenever the speaker is on/working. There are also some LEDs hidden behind the mesh. These will show you time.

For the price, Halo is coming to the EMEA market this December, starting from €119. In the USA, expect this speaker to land in Q1 2021 for a price of $109. Although it is slightly expensive than Nest Audio, those RGB lovers can get a hands-on!

New Addition to Windows Laptops!

Acer has also added new laptops to their Swift, Spin, Aspire, and TravelMate lineup.

The Swift 3 and Swift 5 will come with Intel 11th Gen Processors, along with the Iris X Max graphics. Acer Spin 3 comes with a 13.3-inch 16:10 display. On the other hand, the Spin 5 buyers can purchase an anti-microbial coating of Corning Gorilla Glass. TravelMate lovers can get 3 models with eSIM LTE support, MIL-STD-810G durability, and a Thunderbolt 4 port.
