Last month, we reported that YouTube Premium users have the ability to watch videos in picture-in-picture mode. But people still somehow managed to use PiP mode via YouTube’s website. However, YouTube again removed the feature from its website.
Now, with the new iOS 14.0.1 update, non-premium users can watch YouTube Premium in PiP mode on the website. We’re not sure if it was a bug that hindered the ability in the first place, or if it was a deliberate attempt.
The feature is available on not just Safari, but on Chrome and Firefox as well. Just tap the PiP button on the top right corner on the YouTube website while playing a video on the full screen. This will activate the PiP mode on your iPhone.
