Pixel 5 is finally here! And so is the Pixel 4a 5G. Google has officially launched both of these devices today at its virtual event.
The Pixel 5 has got a 6-inch 2340 x 1080 OLED panel with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. There’s no motion-sense camera this time, so the front is completely bezel-less with a little hole-punch camera cutout. There’s 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, a 4,080mAh battery, and 18W USB-C fast charging along with IP68 water resistance.

The Pixel 4a 5G has got a bigger 6.2-inch display but there’s no 90Hz. The battery is of 3885 mAh. This one doesn’t come with waterproofing, or reverse charging but does come with a headphone jack.
Instead of the flagship Snapdragon 865+, Google is using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G on both of these phones.
Cameras

Pixel’s main feature has always been the camera. And this time, both the Pixel 5 and the 4a 5G share the same camera modules on the front and the rear.
There are two cameras on the back – a 12.2 MP main camera with a 77-degree field of view and both optical and electronic image stabilization. The other one is a 16 megapixel ultrawide that shoots at a wider 107 degrees. On the front, there’s an 8MP camera.
Google has added the option to capture portrait shots even in low light conditions with the help of Night Sight. And since we are here speaking about software, Google has also added a nifty feature called a “Cinematic Pan” setting for panning shots, and three new stabilization modes for shooting smoother video.
Google is offering a slightly different take from its previous year’s flagship models. Instead of offering everything flagship, Google is offering a modest speed phone with modest pricing. But since Google knows how to work its way around the software, it won’t be surprising to see the Pixel 5 and the 4a challenging major flagships in terms of performance.
