Microsoft is working on a new Office version, which will be the next after Office 2019 edition. The Office 2022, as rumored, will launch pretty soon for all Windows and Mac, and will not need a subscription every year.
Unlike Microsoft 365 (previously known as Office 365) is a subscription-based service, which gives you access to the suite along with 1TB of OneDrive storage. However, before it became popular, we had a perpetual license based suite. Yeah, the old school ones. This suite nowadays comes pre-installed on new laptops or is available for a one-time purchase, not more than $150 for a lifetime. But the thing of concern is after a certain period of time, Microsoft stops releasing updates for these suites. However, This time, Microsoft isn’t ending this suite, as of now. The new suite might land soon for both Windows and Mac.
As of now, not much of details has been out yet.
