The e-pharmacy space in India has been slowly heating up after Reliance acquired Netmeds and Amazon launched Amazon Pharmacy in India. Now, Flipkart ties up with 1MG, a company that already offered medicines, doctor consultations and lab tests.
With the tie up, all of 1MG’s services will be available inside Flipkart’s app. Along with this, more products like hair and skin care products, immunity boosters, mental wellness and general wellness medicines will now be available.
“As consumers increasingly look for preventive care in the wake of the pandemic, it was a natural step for us to scale up our portfolio and launch products across categories such as immunity boosters, respiratory care, diabetic care, digestive care, and cardiac care, among others”
Flipkart spokesperson to The Economic Times
The ePharma sector has also boosted since COVID-19 made it less possible to visit a doctor personally. With Flipkart and 1MG partnership, expect to see even more growth in this sector.
