Perhaps the biggest news in the gaming industry, Microsoft has bought Bethesda, the studio behind Fallout, Doom, The Elder Scrolls, and a lot of others.
Well technically, Microsoft bought ZeniMax Media. This is the company behind id Software (Doom, Quake), Arkane Studios (Dishonored, Prey), Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within), and Bethesda Game Studios (The Elder Scrolls, Fallout).
This deal cost Microsoft $7.5 billion in all-cash. Phil Spencer, Xbox Head, says that the relationship between Microsoft and ZeniMax’s studios has always been cordial.
Tango Gameworks’ Ghostwire: Tokyo and Arkane’s Deathloop which were PS exclusive titles from the above studios will now eventually come to Xbox as well.
