PUBG: Mobile is no longer handled by Tencent.

Recently the Indian Government has placed a ban over several Chinese apps from Indian Market, which also includes PUBG: Mobile. Following the incident, PUBG Corporation has taken over the distribution rights from Tencent.

PUBG Corp recently mentions that they want to work with the Indian Government over this. And thus wants to maintain a healthy market for the local players in India.

The game development will now handle the development and distribution of the game. However, PUBG Corp hasn’t really talked about any further involvement of Tencent in the game development.

In light of recent developments, PUBG Corporation has made the decision to no longer authorize the PUBG MOBILE franchise to Tencent Games in India. Moving forward, PUBG Corporation will take on all publishing responsibilities within the country. As the company explores ways to provide its own PUBG experience for India in the near future, it is committed to doing so by sustaining a localized and healthy gameplay environment for its fans.

It’s interesting to know that PUBG Corp is doing this only for the Indian Market. Tencent will still publish the game around the world as usual.
