Well, most of us are already familiar with the game Project I.G.I: I Am Going In. That was the very first FPS game I ever played on computer. The first third person game I played was Hitman: Codename 47 back in 2007. The I.G.I Origins is going to be the prequel of original game launched back in 2000! The original game was Lit AF!
Project IGI – A Saga began in 2000 and ended in 2003.
Back in 2000 when the game was launched by Eidos interactive (now Square Enix)and developed by Interloop Studio. Back in the time, it received an average rating, just somehow failing to increase critique’s expectations. But somehow it was well designed game.
I used to use cheats to make the guards civis. 😛
And then came the I.G.I 2 – Covert Strike by Interloop Studio. It was the time 2003, and yes the game again didn’t received a positive review. Yet again, the game’s story line was amazing. And then came the sad demise of the Interloop Studios, after they weren’t able to raise funds for their future projects anymore. And the rights of IGI was sold away, and no one knew when we would see a new IGI game.
But no more waiting, as the I.G.I Origins is already under development. The game is being developed by Antimatter Games, and will be published by Toadman Interactive.
Although the game trailer dropped in the early November, 2019, its worth to see how IGI’s story line began.
Here is a small intro to the game with the trailer following.
The year is 1980. You play code name “Regent” an agent in the service of MI6 on active duty. Tasked with critical responsibilities of national security, Regent will undertake a series of missions across the world to achieve the objectives of Spy paymasters in a dramatic, filmic experience that explores the origins of the Institute of Geotactical Intelligence. Using a variety of weapons and gadgets at your disposal, your actions will determine the boundaries of where friends and enemies lay, as you seek to uncover the truth behind events leading to world-shattering ramifications.
You can wishlist the game on Steam!
