Google People Cards

Google Launches People Cards in India

Google, News

Google has added a new search functionality that will enable entrepreneurs, freelancers, businesses, or anyone who wants to be discovered online to create a virtual business card. Called “People Cards”, this is Google’s take on LinkedIn functionalities into its search engine.

This feature is rolling out first to India since Indians tend to look up their names more than any other country in the world. To create a people card for yourself, simply search your name in Google search. Also, make sure that you are signed in with your Google account.

Google will suggest you to add information about yourself. You can add your name, website, occupation, education, and more info about yourself.

“For the millions of influencers, entrepreneurs, prospective employees, self-employed individuals, freelancers, or anyone else out there who wants to be discovered, we hope this new Search feature will help the world find them. For people in India searching on mobile phones, people cards are rolling out in English starting today,”

wrote Lauren Clark, Product Manager for Search at Google, in a blog post.

People cards are Google’s take on adding more features into search and stop people from using other services such as online portfolios or LinkedIn, for that matter.
