Sony has announced its noise-canceling flagship headphones-WH-1000XM4. The headphones are available for pre-order at Best Buy, Amazon and other authorized dealers in black and silver color options at a price of $349.99 (about Rs 26,250 in Indian currency). They are scheduled to arrive in September 2020, for the Indian masses.
These headphones are equipped with two microphones on each earcup and dual noise sensor technology capturing ambient noise and passing data to the QN1 HD Noise Cancelation processor. Users can install the “Sony Connect headphones” app to experience a custom immersive music environment.
The headphones are getting a new feature called ‘Speak-to-Chat’ that allows users to have short conversations without having to take off their headphones. They can recognize the user’s voice and pause the music automatically so that they can have a conversation to let in ambient sound. The music starts playing again automatically for 30 seconds after they have stopped talking.
The headphones also support Google’s Fast Pair feature which uses BLE to automatically make them appear as a pairing popup on a nearby phone.
Now the WH-1000XM4 supports being paired simultaneously with two devices. If one of them is a phone, and a call comes in, the headphones switch to that one automatically.
The WH-1000XM4 is priced at $350 and are available in selected countries for pre-order today.
