Galaxy Note 20

Galaxy Note 20 series launch, the bump is way too huge!

Samsung just now launched the Galaxy Note 20 Series in the Unpacked event held online. The Galaxy Note 20 series comes with a variety of features.

Galaxy Note 20 – Specifications

The Galaxy Note 20 comes with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2K display. On the other hand, the Note 20 Ultra comes with a 6.9-inch Dynamix AMOLED 2K display and yes, it comes with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both of them are HDR10+ certified.

Samsung is using the toughest Gorilla Glass, the Gorilla Glass Victus on its Note 20 series. Moreover, they claim to provide a faster CPU on these two devices. Well, we know which processors are going to end up on these devices anyways. The processor used here will be a 7nm processor with different clock speeds, depending on the region.

Samsung is also claiming to give faster charging on these two devices. You can charge up to 50% in 30 min of charge. Does that mean you might get a 45W fast charger here? You will get a 4500mAh battery on the Ultra whereas the normal one will get a 4300mAh battery. Both of them support USB PD 3.0 and Fast Charging 2.0

There are going to be different variants. The 5G variant of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will have 12/128, 12/256, 12/512 options whereas the Note 20 will have 8/128 and 8/256.

However, the LTE Models are kind of left out. No matter what you choose – Ultra or non-Ultra, you are stick to 8GB of RAM. The Ultra model will have 256GB and 512GB of storage option, whereas the normal model will get only 256GB of storage.

As usual, there is going to be a triple camera at the back. On the Note 20 Ultra, the main sensor is going to be a 108MP wide-angle camera, the second one is a 12MP ultra-wide camera and the third one is going to be a 12MP telephoto camera. There is Space Zoom, with 50x Hybrid Zoom and 5x optical zoom, and is fully capable of OIS.

On the other hand, the normal Note 20 will feature a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP Wide-angle camera, and a 64MP Telephoto camera ( wait what? ), 3x optical zoom and 30x Hybrid Zoom with the Space Zoom feature.

The front-facing camera is going to be a 10MP camera. However, one thing is a big concern. The Back of the base Note 20 is a Glass, whereas Samsung is claiming to put a Re-enforced polycarbonate layer on the Note 20 Ultra. If that’s true, then well, not much is going to sell this time. Because no one wants to pay $1000 for a plastic back body anyways.

This time Samsung also tried reducing the latency of the S-Pen to 9ms. The S-Pen also uses AI-based line prediction to make accurate straight lines.

Galaxy Note 20 – Colors, Pricing and Availability.

The Galaxy Note 20 will be available in four colours: Mystic White, Mystic Green, Mystic Black and Samsung’s signature Mystic Bronze. The smartphones will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow. The starting price for the Note 20 is $999 for the 5G model whereas the Note 20 Ultra will cost you $1249 for the 5G model. Selected countries will get the LTE only variant.

If you pre-order the Galaxy Note 20, you will get three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for free. And if you have pre-ordered the gaming bundle, well, you will also get the Xbox MOBA controller as well.

In terms of software, Samsung is promising three years of software updates. Which also includes major OS and the latest security updates.
