PUBG: Mobile is a game developed and published by Tencent Gaming, which is a company in China. Several other Chinese apps including TikTok has already been banned in the subcontinent. AliExpress is also under the radar. Several other apps such as Clash of Clans ( Supercell), Resso, ULike (parent company: ByteDance, owner of TikTok), and many other apps included in a list of 275 apps.
As of now, the Government of India hasn’t stated how they will proceed with the ban. It might also be possible that not all of the apps get banned. The same goes for PUBG: Mobile. And since Tencent is under the radar, we might see Call of Duty: Mobile getting banned, because, Tencent, you know!
If the game is banned, PUBG Corporation will have to deal with a severe blow to their business as most of the players are from India itself. With a staggering 175 million installs in the country, which is an overall 24% of the total downloads of the game alone. After that, PUBG might have to look for another publisher from India or another country.
