Sony today launched a new camera, which focuses on video content creators around the world. It is a lightweight, all-in-one solution for the vloggers and the other content creators. The Sony ZV-1 comes with almost all of the features you need, with an easy-to-use interface and uncompromising imaging technology, overall.
Sony ZV-1 Specifications
The ZV-1 comes with a 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS COSMOS image sensor, which also has a DRAM chip. It comes with a 24-70mm F1.8-2.8 ZIESS Vario-Sonar T* large-aperture lens which ensures specific focus on the background blur or the bokeh effect.
The extensive focus on the Bokeh, makes the subject stand out in the crowd. Sony ensures lock on to the subject and with high accuracy, can track the subjects. This happens all thanks to Sony’s autofocus technology. The Sony ZV-1 also comes with the latest BIONZ X image processor with front-end LSI, which delivers high-res, low noise images.
Also, the camera will combine those exceptional shots with the exceptional audio clarity.
It also comes with a side-opening variable-angle LCD screen. This LCD makes it easier to compose your shots, even in the selfie mode. It also features 4K video recording and in-body image stabilization as well.
When recording in HD mode, both OIS and EIS combine their functionality to reduce the shaking by 11 times. When shooting in 4K mode, expect the shaking reduction by 8 times.
The exceptional Bokeh & autofocus!
Be the focus of your own video. The ZV-1 provides two levels of bokeh when you are recording. The new Background Defocus function helps to achieve rapid change in the background blur. There are two levels of bokeh, which happens to be optical, without losing a bit of focus. A dedicated button is placed on the top of the camera to access it within a moment.
The new Face Priority Auto Exposure settles that exposure which happens due to sudden shift in the environment. This wonderful technology suppresses the sudden exposure changes in the environment. Moreover, there is an inbuilt advanced color science that optimizes subject’s skin tones, be it a still or a video.
The exceptional focus of the camera is beneficial for most product reviews and other similar videos. A new Product Showcase settings allows a quick shift from the subject’s face and the object in front of it.
This new focus has been made with the technology used for α (Alpha Brand) and the RX series camera. For maintaining the AF consistently, the camera uses the Real-Time Eye AF and Real-Time Tracking AF for videos. This makes it easier for the camera to switch between still and the video mode, with no loss in the AutoFocus.
Damn that crystal clear audio!
The onboard mic on the Sony ZV-1 is the Sony’s latest Directional 3-capsule mic that is well-designed for forward-facing audio capture. It allows crispy sound to capture subject’s voice with minimal background noise. For more flexibility, there is an 3.5-mm mic jack and a Multi Interface Show for you guys to add 3rd party microphones as well. There is a wind screen accessory inbox to reduce wind interference.
Live Stream possible!
You can convert the Sony ZV-1 as a Webcam for your Live Streaming desktop computer. Just connect it with the desktop using the USB cable, and you are good to go. All the features of the camera are there for you to use, even the bokeh, during the live stream! The Sony software will be made available this July.
