Google had updated the Android 11 page (now taken down) for the next major version of the OS on its developer site with details about the Beta upgrade. It’s coming June 3rd and there’s going to be a special launch demonstration on YouTube to make up for this year’s lack of Google I/O.
Pushing the public beta from May till June possibly means some form of delay for the final launch of Android 11. The initial intention was to have the final release ready by Q3 2020 but it remains uncertain whether / how that would change.
The Beta Launch Show will strive to provide all the same news, updates, and announcements that would usually be shared in person by the Android team at Google’s Mountain View campus at an I / O keynote at the Shoreline Amphitheater stage. For the Coronavirus pandemic ending the annual developer conference of Google just as it has so many other big events, this is about as much as we might hope for. Check out the show’s preview video below. The trailer is currently unlisted on YouTube and may well have gone out sooner than expected, indicating this announcement.
