Qualcomm today announced its Quick Charge 3 Plus which the firm will start using in its new SoC this year. Qualcomm promises even faster charging speed with affordability kept in mind.
The first SoC to receive this will be the Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G, which are available in Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Zoom. This device will come with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3 Plus and Quick Charge 4 Plus as well. In the later parts of this year, many more SoC will get this support out of the box. However, there is no talk about if the existing users will get this in an update.
Quick Charge 3 Plus will bring more power efficiency and will charge your smartphone from 0 to 50 in 15 min, which is a direct 35% jump in the charging speed. One thing to note is that with every fast charging in the world, be it Super VOOC or Dash or Quick Charge, heat will be generated at a rapid rate. Somehow Qualcomm managed to reduce it 9° down in the QC 3 Plus. Interestingly, the QC 3 Plus will support the USB-A connectors, which are way too inexpensive. The Type-A connector are the normal USB ports you generally use, and these are available for cheap.
And thanks to the backward compatibility, the users will no longer need to change from one USB type to another, as it cost them money for the entire device.
