OnePlus and its OnePlus 8-series phones could bring a wireless charger to the market. The Warp Charge 30 Wireless Charger (not its official name) is scheduled to be launched on April 14 alongside the new phones. Details of the wireless charger have now been tipped, indicating a maximum charge for the OnePlus 8 Pro in 80 minutes. Some of the other features were also suggested alongside the expected price. If those reports are real, then this will be the company’s first wireless charger.
For the first time ever, our industry-leading Warp Charge technology is going wireless on the #OnePlus8Series.

OnePlus claims that it’s Warp Charge 30 Wireless charger will charge the OnePlus 8 Pro in just half an hour from 1 per cent to 50 per cent. It claims the charger will be able to reach almost 30W performance with 97 per cent efficiency — indicating that while at it, it will also run quite cool (as opposed to rival wireless charging solutions). OnePlus also states that when “abnormal currents and voltages are observed,” it uses a ‘kill switch’ feature in the charge pump inside its upcoming wireless charger that will stop charging.
It’s not immediately clear if OnePlus would bundle the latest Warp Charge 30 Wireless charger with the OnePlus 8 Pro at no extra cost, or if it will be sold individually. OnePlus normally bundles a fast charger for all of its phones, but for it, wireless charging is a new frontier, so we’ll have to wait to find out.
