WhatsApp finally gets a new, dark mode today on iOS and Android. The WhatsApp dark mode will be available for all users today, after months of beta testing on both mobile operating systems. If you already have dark mode allowed on iOS 13 or Android 10 at the system level, then the WhatsApp will turn over automatically. Android 9 users can simply enable a new dark theme in the Settings menu on WhatsApp.
Facebook’s WhatsApp dark mode has been updated to ensure it reduces a handset display’s brightness. “We found during research that mixing pure black and white produces a high contrast that can lead to eye exhaustion,” states a spokesperson for the WhatsApp.
If you have iOS 13 or Android 10, in device settings, you can allow dark mode from WhatsApp. People who use Android 9 or lower can find it in the settings of the app, by going to chats, then theme.wh
